Download UC BrowserHD For Windows 8

Posted on 09:42 by Unknown
Regardless of the editions of Windows 8, Internet Explorer is available in two versions: Internet Explorer for desktop and Internet Explorer with Modern UI. The desktop version of Internet Explorer is the legacy one with all the bells and whistles, and the latter one is cut-down version of the desktop version designed for touch screen.

Up until now, computer users who’re running Windows 8 on a touch screen had no option but to go for Modern UI version of Internet Explorer as Google Chrome with Modern UI and Firefox with Modern UI aren’t quite ready yet. If you’re looking for an alternative to IE10 Modern UI, you can check out UC BrowserHD.

Kaspersky PURE 3.0 FreeDownload

Posted on 09:26 by Unknown
Kaspersky has updated its flagship product Kaspersky PURE to version 3.0 and the final version of the software is now available for download. Even though PURE isn’t as popular as Antivirus and Internet Security, it’s the ultimate protection software available from Kaspersky to secure your PC.

Kaspersky PURE 3.0 for Windows

Kaspersky PURE is packed with all features of Antivirus and Internet Security plus some additional premium features such as Secure Keyboard Input and Password Manager.
The newest version of Kaspersky PURE has received many improvements. In addition to Kaspersky cloud account, users can now use the backup tool to backup data to Dropbox, for instance. Please note that Kaspersky Password Manager doesn’t work on 64-bit Windows, as of now.
New and improved features in Kaspersky PURE 3.0:
  • Sync feature in Password Manager
  • Online backup
  • Secure keyboard and improved virtual keyboard
  • Safe money
  • Automatic exploit prevention
The online backup currently lets you backup data up to 2GB to the popular Dropbox service. And in order to use this feature, you need to first create an account with Dropbox, if you don’t have one already.

Kaspersky PURE 3.0 for Windows Picture1

Safe Money is another new feature introduced with this version of PURE. When you visit banking website, Safe Money not only checks the website URL against a list of secure sites but also lets you open the website in the special safe money mode for better protection.

Kaspersky PURE 3.0 for Windows Picture2

Secure Keyboard feature prevents keyloggers from accessing your data that you type when you visit a website. Just like the previous version of the software and many other security software out there, PURE also comes with an improved virtual keyboard to help you enter confidential data without touching the physical keyboard.

The password manager with password sync feature is pretty good as it now supports password syncing across your computers protected with Kaspersky PURE.

Kaspersky PURE 3.0 for Windows Picture5

Event though features to better protect PCs are always welcome, we feel that features such as online backup and PC cleaning tools aren’t necessary in a security software as there are better programs available to perform backup and clean-up.

Overall, Kaspersky PURE 3.0 is the best software out there to protect your PC, data, passwords, and network. It’s probably the only ultimate all-in-one security suite available features with tons of features.
Kaspersky is providing a detailed PURE user guide for users who’re not familiar with the PURE software. Visit this page to download the PDF guide. Kaspersky PURE 3.0 is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating systems. Existing Kaspersky PURE 2.0 users can upgrade to PURE 3.0 for free.

A fully-functional 30-day trial copy of the software is also available. Interested users can jump to the download page to start downloading the setup file. You can download PURE 3.0 here

How to Use CCleaner (Full Guide)

Posted on 09:26 by Unknown
There’s more to CCleaner than clicking a single button. This popular application for wiping temporary files and clearing private data hides a variety of features, from fine-grained options for tweaking the cleaning process to full drive-wiping tools.

CCleaner is easy for beginners to use – just launch it and click the Run Cleaner button. But there’s a lot more you can do with it.

Consider What You Delete

CCleaner clears a lot of stuff by default. You might want to reconsider clearing the browser caches (Temporary Internet Files for Internet Explorer). Browsers store these files on your system to speed up browsing in the future. When you revisit a site, the site will load faster if images and other files are cached on your system. Clearing these will free up some space and increase your browsing privacy, if you’re worried about that, but frequent cache cleanings can slow down your web browsing.

Erasing the thumbnail cache (under Windows Explorer) can also slow things down – if you open up a folder with a lot of image files, it will take some time to recreate the cache. Clearing it does free up space, but at the cost of recreating the cache later.
Many other options clear most-recently-used lists (MRUs) in Windows and other programs. These lists don’t take up much space, but can be privacy concerns – if there’s a most-recently-used list you rely on, be sure to uncheck it.

Whitelist Important Cookies

CCleaner clears all cookies by default, but you might want to keep some. If you find yourself always logging into your favorite websites after running CCleaner, open the Cookies pane in the Options section.
CCleaner can help you with this whitelisting – right-click in the Cookies pane and select Intelligent Scan. CCleaner will automatically add Google, Hotmail, and Yahoo Mail cookies to your whitelist.

You’ll probably want to add other cookies to the whitelist, too. For example, locate the howtogeek.com cookie in the list and click the right arrow button to add it to your whitelist. CCleaner will leave your How-To Geek cookie alone, so you don’t have to log back into How-To Geek after clearing your cookies.

Beware the Registry Cleaner

While CCleaner does include a registry cleaner, I’d recommend against running it. The Windows registry contains hundreds of thousands of entries; removing a few hundred (at most) won’t give you an increase in performance. Registry cleaners can accidentally remove important registry values, however, so there’s risk with little reward.

That said, if you’re dead set on running a registry cleaner, CCleaner is one of the safer ones. If you do run the registry cleaner, ensure you back up any changes you make. You can restore the deleted registry entries from the backup file if you encounter any problems.

Manage Startup Programs

The Startup panel in the Tools section allows you to disable programs that automatically run when your computer starts. To avoid losing an autostart entry that may be important, use the Disable option instead of the Delete option. You can easily re-enable a disabled autostart entry later.

Wipe Drives

When Windows or another operating system deletes a file, it doesn’t actually wipe the file from your hard disk. Instead, the pointers to the files are deleted and the operating system marks the file’s location as free space. File recovery programs can scan your hard disk for these files, and, if the operating system hasn’t written over the area, can recover the data. CCleaner can help protect against this by wiping the free space with its Drive Wiper tool.

While some people believe that multiple passes are necessary to irrecoverably delete files, one pass should probably be fine. If you’re disposing of a hard drive, you can also perform a full erase of all the data on the drive with this tool.
You can also have CCleaner wipe free space every time you run it by enabling the Wipe Free Space checkbox under Advanced in the Cleaner section. Enabling this option will make CCleaner take much longer to clean up your system – CCleaner recommends leaving it disabled.

Securely Delete Files

You can have CCleaner delete files securely, effectively using the Drive Cleaner tool on each file it deletes. Bear in mind that this is slower than deleting the files normally – that’s why operating systems don’t securely delete files by default. If you’re concerned about privacy, enable this option from the Settings tab in the Options section.

Include Custom Files

If you use a program that isn’t included in CCleaner’s list of applications, or you have a temporary file directory you want cleared regularly, you can specify custom folders and files in CCleaner. CCleaner will delete these files and empty these folders when you run it.
To add a custom folder or file, open the Options section and use the options on the Include tab. Be careful when adding folders or files; you could accidentally add important files or folders and lose them.

The custom files you specify here are only cleaned if the Custom Files and Folders checkbox under Advanced is enabled.

Exclude Files

Likewise, if CCleaner keeps clearing something you don’t want it to clear, you can add an exclusion in the Options section. You can exclude an entire drive, folder, file, or registry key. You can also restrict the exclusion to specific file extensions.

Manage Installed Programs

CCleaner’s tools include the Uninstall panel, which lists your installed programs. This panel includes a few more features than the default Windows one – you can rename or delete the entries here and any changes you make will also appear in the Windows Control Panel.
You can also save the list of installed programs to a text file – an easy way to keep a list of your installed programs in case you need to remember and reinstall them from scratch.

Once you’ve got CCleaner set up.

Rip DVDs with VLC Media Player

Posted on 15:58 by Unknown
Have you tried or used VideoLAN’s VLC Media Player? It’s my favorite media player and the best one in my opinion. Its very versatile and can play almost any type of media file (audio & video) available. Aside from playing media files, do you know that VLC can also rip DVDs? If you don’t then you’re in luck because today I’m gonna show you how you can do it in a few simple steps.
DISCLAIMER: The DMCA prohibits the ripping of DVDs that have DRM or any form of DRM on it like CSS, so make sure you only rip DVDs that don’t have content protection. If you decide to proceed with ripping a DVD, you can use this process at your own risk

NOTE: For this tutorial, I used VLC Media Player 1.0.3 Goldeneye

1. Open VLC Media Player and go to Media > Open Disc or you can do a Ctrl + D.
VLC DVD Rip

2. Make sure that DVD is selected and Disc Device is pointing to the DVD drive.

3. Click Play to check if its the DVD/video that you want to rip. If not, change Title value to 1 or the next number until you find the right video.
VLC DVD Rip

4. Now that you have the right video, go to Media > Convert/Save or do a Ctrl + R.
VLC DVD Rip

5. Click on the Disc tab and click on Convert/Save. Under Destination, select the folder or location where you want to save the file and type in the title of the file. Make sure you type in the correct file extension – “.ogg” or “.mp4?.

6. Under Settings > Profile, select Video – MPEG-4 + AAC (MP4) if you want to play it on your iPod/iPhone or Video – Theory + FLAC (OGG) if you want lossless audio.

7. You can edit the Profile settings by clicking on the button beside the profile options.
VLC DVD Rip

8. When you’re satisfied with the settings, start the ripping process by clicking on Start.
Just wait until VLC is done ripping the DVD and that’s it. You can now watch the finished file with VLC. If you selected the Video – MPEG-4 + AAC (MP4) setting then you can upload the video to your iPod/iPhone and watch it. Hope you’ll find this simple tutorial on how to rip DVDs with VLC useful.
Anyone else use VLC to rip DVDs or do you use regular DVD ripping software? Do you know of an alternative way of ripping DVDs without the use of software? Please share your thoughts.

Keyloggers

Posted on 22:30 by Unknown
Keystroke loggers are stealth software that sits between keyboard hardware and the operating system, so that they can record every key stroke.

There are two types of keystroke loggers:

1. Software based and
2. Hardware based.

Spy ware: Spector (www.spector.com)

Spector is a spy ware and it will record everything anyone does on the internet.
Spector automatically takes hundreds of snapshots every hour, very much like a surveillance camera. With spector, you will be able to see exactly what your surveillance targets have been doing online and offline.
Spector works by taking a snapshot of whatever is on your computer screen and saves it away in a hidden location on your computer’s hard drive.

Hacking Tool: eBlaster (www.spector.com)

eBlaster lets you know EXACTLY what your surveillance targets are doing on the internet even if you are thousands of miles away.
eBlaster records their emails, chats, instant messages, websites visited and keystrokes typed and then automatically sends this recorded information to your own email address.
Within seconds of them sending or receiving an email, you will receive your own copy of that email.

Hacking Tool: (Hardware Keylogger) (www.keyghost.com)

It keeps a record of all key strokes typed on the keyboard. The recording process is totally transparent to the end user.

How to use VMware tools to Install Windows 8 on VMware software?

Posted on 07:26 by Unknown
This article will help you install windows 8 on VMware software using VMware tools. The whole installation process takes only about 10 minutes depending on your computer and resources available for virtual machine. The Windows 8 installation process is straight forward and you can choose default options or select obvious settings. It will ask for a Windows 8 product key which you can skip and choose to provide it later.

The Windows 8 Developer Preview is a preview of what an operating system is expected to look and feel like once development is complete. While you may be months or even a year away from seeing the release version of Windows 8, you can still take advantage of this program for a quick glimpse of what is ahead.
For users who switched away and for those also who stayed away through Windows Vista and Windows 7, Windows 8 marks one of the most significant user interface changes. Like Windows 3.11 gave way to Windows 95. The Start menu is entirely different, and the user interface is geared towards a blend between traditional and touch-based applications.
Step by step 10 instructions on how to install Windows 8 on VMware Software:
1)     Download Windows 8 installer from the official Microsoft Windows website.
2)     Install VMware software. The installation is a straight forward process. During installation, you will have to provide the VMware product key you received in the email.
3)     Launch VMware software. You can find the shortcut to launch VMware software on your Desktop or Start Menu
4)     Create a new Virtual Machine by clicking on the appropriate link in the welcome screen or in the File menu.
5)     When you create a new virtual machine, choose the option "I will install the operating system later."

The option to install from the Windows 8 installer ISO image may not work since VMware cannot recognize the Windows 8 operating system yet.
6)     Choose Windows as the operating system. Since you will not find Windows 8 in the list, choose Windows 7 or Windows 7 64-bit, whichever is appropriate. Choose the default options or appropriate options in all other screens.
7)     After you complete creating the new virtual machine, VMware will open the new virtual machine with a blank screen.
8)     Click on the "Power on this virtual machine" option. It will try to boot the virtual machine. However it will fail to start the operating system since there is no operating system installed yet.

9)     Mount the ISO image as DVD drive and install Windows 8 from it. To mount the Windows 8 ISO image, click on the tab for your virtual machine in VMware window and select"Removable Devices" Ã  "CD/DVD (IDE)" Ã  "Settings".

10)  Click on the “CD/DVD (IDE)” option on the left side. On the right side, choose the option "Use ISO image file" and select your Windows 8 installer ISO image file.

You are all set to install Windows 8 on the VMware software. All you have to do is click on "Restart VM" at the bottom of the VMware software screen and it will restart the virtual machine and boot from the Windows 8 ISO image.

How to add Hotmail and Live Email Accounts to Outlook 2010?

Posted on 12:00 by Unknown
Microsoft has been claiming that it will improve its Hotmail service, making it a better webmail provider. Nevertheless, new version of Outlook, i.e. Outlook 2010 is already out. This article will instruct you on how to incorporate Outlook and Hotmail.
Outlook 2010 is compatible with many email systems, such as POP3, IMAP and Exchange accounts. Exchange syncs your calendar and contacts as well as your email but POP3 and IMAP does not do so. If you use the Hotmail Connector you will be enabled to sync your email, contacts and calendar with Outlook . This will make it easy to access your PIM data anywhere you are.
The procedure involves 8 easy steps:

1.     In order to incorporate Hotmail into Outlook you need to first install the Hotmail connector. Before doing so, ensure that Outlook is not being used and it has been closed. Then go ahead with the installation.

  1. Outlook will prompt you to download Hotmail Connector if you enter your hotmail account in the New Account Setup. If you haven’t already exited Outlook you will have to do so and enter your information again when you restart Outlook, thus it is better to install Hotmail Connector first.

  1. The actual process will start at this point. If you are running Outlook 2010 for the first time, the screen given below will appear. Click the Next to continue setting up Outlook.

  1. When you have pressed next, you will be asked for confirmation. Select Yes and then Next for the second time.

 5.    If you have been using Outlook, just add a new account by pressing the File button and then clicking the Add Account button.

 6.    After you have selected the required button, enter the information related to your Hotmail account and once again press Next.

  1. Outlook will generate a search for your account settings and then it will automatically setup the account with Hotmail Connector which has already been installed.

  1. Once all of the steps listed above have been completed, the following screen will popup. Just press the Finish button, setup has been completed and you can check your Hotmail in Outlook.

Setup has been completed so now you  have officially synced your Hotmail account with Outlook 2010. You will receive a notification at  the bottom of your window stating that you are connected Windows Live Hotmail. Your email will be coordinated with your Hotmail account, vice versa your calendar and contacts saved on Outlook will be synchronized with your Live calendar and contacts. This procedure will ensure setting up an optimum full Exchange without actually getting an Exchange account. As a matter of fact, Hotmail Sync seems to be faster than IMAP synchronization.
Hotmail generally isn’t as popular as Gmail but it works really well with Outlook integration. If you frequently use Window Live services, or want to give them a go then Outlook Connector is the best option to keep the cloud synced with your desktop. Or maybe you are just like many other Hotmail users who want to access Hotmail with their other email accounts, this is a useful procedure for you too.
