Walking Dead "action FPS" announced by Activision

Activision announced today that they are currently producing a new action shooter based on the AMC Walking Dead television series. The game is in development at Terminal Reality, and is due out in 2013 on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

The title will focus on the Dixon brothers, Merle and Daryl, and appears to be a prequel to the series. Players will control Daryl in what seems to be something of a survival horror title. “No place is truly safe for Daryl as he makes his way through the Georgia countryside in this new, post-apocalyptic world,” said Activision.

They also said that supplies will be scarce, and other characters from the series will be encountered who may be able to tag along. IGN has a brief teaser trailer.

Terminal Reality has a bit of an unpredictable history lately, developing Kinect Star Wars and Ghostbusters: The Video Game as well as many other lesser known titles.

Half-Life: Something about this Gordon Freeman action figure doesn't look like Gordon Freeman

Despite this Gordon Freeman action figure from NECA ticking all the requisite feature-defining boxes, there's something not quite right about its 7" plastic homage to Valve's Half-Life hero. Have a look:

Glasses? Check. Goatee? Check. Crowbar? Check. HEV Suit? Check. Undeniably it's all there, but more in a passing resemblance sort of "hey that dude looks like Gordon Freeman" kind of way. It definitely seems too beefy-looking. That said, it has 20 points of articulation, two sets of interchangeable hands and comes with gravity gun and headcrab accessories and is consequently a cool piece of official paraphernalia.

The Gordon Freeman action figure will cost $18 and will be available at all retailers that sell such things from September.
